The hospital is now the first non-university site to be visible in the FDPG, making its data available to the research community.<\/p>\n<p>Research plays a crucial role in improving healthcare. Patient data from routine care is of great importance here. This data complements traditional trial data by providing insights into the actual efficacy, safety and applicability of medical interventions in a real clinical setting.<\/p>\n<p>The FDPG is a central point of contact for physicians who wish to conduct research projects with routine data.<\/p>\n<p>The FDPG offers<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>an overview of datasets for cross-site research,<\/li>\n<li>the opportunity to submit feasibility inquiries about available data and biosamples,<\/li>\n<li>a standardized process for requesting data and biosamples,<\/li>\n<li>standardized contractual regulations for the uncomplicated use of data and<\/li>\n<li>central coordination of data provision and<\/li>\n<li>a transparent presentation of research projects in the project register.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Until now, the focus has been on data from the university hospitals. As part of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII), the university medical sites developed standardized methods and tools for data harmonization with the aim of establishing cross-site data exchange.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-10022 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.miracum.org\/files\/2024\/02\/Klinikum-Chemnitz__ohne-Unterzeile-300x69.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"69\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.miracum.org\/files\/2024\/02\/Klinikum-Chemnitz__ohne-Unterzeile-300x69.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.miracum.org\/files\/2024\/02\/Klinikum-Chemnitz__ohne-Unterzeile-60x14.jpg 60w, https:\/\/www.miracum.org\/files\/2024\/02\/Klinikum-Chemnitz__ohne-Unterzeile.jpg 394w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>In 2022, Chemnitz Hospital became the first data integration center (DIZ) at a non-university maximum care hospital to be connected to the MII. Martin Bartos is the project manager of the DIZ Chemnitz. As part of the Digital Progress Hub &#8220;Medical Informatics Hub in Saxony&#8221; (MiHUBx), which is also funded by the BMBF, Dresden University Medicine, which acts as the scientific and technical network coordinator, has succeeded in establishing the methods and tools of the MII at Chemnitz Hospital and facilitating the connection to the FDPG.
