Launch of the “Zentrales Studienregister” at University Hospital Erlangen

Within the cooperative effort between the Comprehensive Cancer Center Erlangen-EMN (CCC EMN), the Medical Information and Communication Center of the University Hospital Erlangen and MIRACUM, the „Zentrales Studienregister“ was launched recently. With this register, the University Hospital Erlangen from now on offers insight into more than 400 clinical oncological trials being pursued at University Hospital Erlangen, the Klinikum Bayreuth GmbH, the Sozialstiftung Bamberg and the Klinikum St. Marien Amberg, all cooperating within CCC EMN. Interested clinicians searching for clinical trials for their patients and patients themselves can obtain information about current trials under the web address https://studien.ccc-emn.de. Keywords and filter functions facilitate the search for relevant studies, specific diseases and dedicated clinical specialties. The resulting transparency offers patients the opportunity to become aware of studies with innovative therapy methods at an early stage and to benefit from pioneering approaches by participating in such a study. The contents of this registry is currently being extended to include also all non-oncological trials in the near future. Thus, the „Zentrales Studienregister“ represents an important gateway between the patient and the clinic when carrying out clinical trials.
