We welcome all participants to our second Symposium at the University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. After one year of the Medical Informatics Initiative the first structures of the Data Integration Centres and our use cases are making progress. Also the results of the activities in the National Steering Committee and its working groups show that the four consortia are working – also beyond their own concepts – very successfully together and can produce first comprehensive results. Through the official joining of the University Hospitals Dresden and Greifswald, MIRACUM has now grown to a total of 10 locations with DIC. We are pleased that also at this year’s Symposium international keynote speakers could be won again. Just in time for the MIRACUM Symposium we present our second MIRACUM Magazine, which provides an overview of the current activities and results of the consortium, and wish you a lot of joy while reading. We are looking forward to an exciting second MIRACUM Symposium in Mainz!
