Second MIRACUM Symposium outlined first results

On 28th and 29th of March 2019 we held our second MIRACUM Symposium at the University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and were delighted to welcome around 170 participants.

With a view to Switzerland we were informed by Christian Lovis on the Swiss Personalized Health Network project, which is very similar to the Medical Informatics Initiative, and by Reinhold Sojer on the status of the Swiss Electronic Patient Record. In addition to further keynotes by Frank Ückert (DKFZ Heidelberg), Oliver Heinze (University Hospital Heidelberg) and Johannes Starlinger (HU Berlin), overview lectures on the previous results of the National Steering Committee working groups, the MIRACUM activities regarding training and further education and the MIRACUM Use Cases, we were able to present a newly acquired register project based on the MIRACUM DIC. In addition, Dagmar Waltemath introduced herself as new MIRACUM Professor for Medical Informatics at the University of Greifswald.

The MIRACUM Evening Event offered a good opportunity for networking and exchange.
