Spring School 2021

IT support in the Corona pandemic

The MIRACUM Consortium invites young professionals to the “COVID-19 Spring School” for MIRACUM staff and externals. This event will be held in virtual format from May 03 to 07. The one-week online Spring School serves to strengthen medical informatics. During this, the focus will be on the topic “COVID-19”. Speakers from the MIRACUM consortium as well as from other consortia of the Medical Informatics Initiative and the TMF will discuss the collection, management, storage and use of COVID-19 data.

Participants will learn a few things about COVID-19 disease. They will learn about the Medical Informatics Initiative core data set and the standardized data set for COVID-19 research (GECCO). In addition to legal frameworks and standardization issues, they will explore the National University Medicine Research Network (NUM) and several COVID-19 projects (e.g., CODEX, NAPKON, RACOON, and others) and learn how to analyze the collected COVID-19 data. The Spring School will be diversified for the participants by a variety of practical exercises and extensive opportunities for discussion. Working together will promote getting to know each other and strengthen cross-site team building for future collaboration.
