The Faculty of Medicine Carl Gustav Carus at the Dresden University of Technology has won Martin Sedlmayr as new head of Medical Informatics. We congratulate Martin Sedlmayr to his new position and challenge! In Erlangen, Martin Sedlmayr was the esteemed deputy chair of the Medical Informatics and responsible for projects such as OPAL Health, cloud4health, and Clinical Data Intelligence as well as supporting teaching, administrative organisation, and IT. In April 2018 he received his habilitation from the Medical Faculty of the FAU. We wish Martin a good start in Dresden! He leaves a big gap in Erlangen.
In Dresden, Prof. Sedlmayr fills the director position of the Center for Medical Informatics of the University Medical Center Dresden, and he is – together with the CIO of the University Hospital – responsible for the strategic development in the field of digital medicine. As Scientific Coordinator, he accounts for establishing the Data Integration Center as an ecosystem for medical research and care.
